Circuito elettronico: dettaglio di scheda RAEE destinata al recupero
WEEE · Urban Mining · Cleantech innovation

From WEEE circuit boards, we recover value.

Our Microfactories utilize Artificial Intelligence and Robotics to identify and extract valuable electronic components — CPUs, capacitors, heatsinks, connectors, transformers — which, after a reconditioning process, are reintroduced into the second-life market through our e-commerce channels.

WEEE: the waste stream that is growing fastest in the world.

Discarded electronic boards contain concentrations of gold, silver, copper, and rare earth elements up to 50 times higher than those in a natural deposit. Yet over three-quarters of global WEEE escapes tracked recycling: critical raw materials lost, contaminants released into the environment, economic value burned.

Ignoring urban mines is no longer sustainable, either ecologically or economically. Every electronic board is a deposit waiting to be recognized.

Our Solution

Orbita Technologies has developed a proprietary system combining artificial intelligence and advanced robotics to turn WEEE boards into an economic and environmental resource.

Particolare del Layout della microfactory Orbita 1 per il recupero di componenti elettronici dai RAEE tramite Edge AI e computer vision

Maximize value, minimize waste.

  • AI identification of circuit boards with residual market value for direct reuse
  • Robotic extraction of intact components: CPUs, capacitors, heatsinks, connectors, and transformers
  • Routing recovered components to certified reconditioning supply chains
  • Precision disassembly that preserves the electrical and mechanical integrity of components
  • Mass removal of remaining components aimed at streamlining any subsequent pyrolysis treatments

How It Works

A linear, transparent, and fully traceable process that maximizes value recovery.

1. Collection and Logistics

We acquire batches of electronic boards from partner WEEE treatment plants, IT companies, and authorized collection centers.

2. AI Identification

Our computer vision system analyzes each board to determine its residual market value and identify salvageable components.

3. Selective Extraction

Robotic arms extract components: CPUs, capacitors, heatsinks, connectors, and transformers while preserving their electrical integrity.

4. Reconditioning

Extracted components are sent to the reconditioning supply chain and reintroduced into the electronic spare parts market.

The technology, our core strength.

Orbita's competitive advantage lies in the integration of hardware and software designed specifically to identify and recover value from the heterogeneous world of WEEE.

Obsolete Board Evaluation

Our proprietary algorithm analyzes each WEEE board to determine its residual market value, distinguishing between those still marketable and those to be routed for selective disassembly.

Computer Vision & ML

Neural networks trained on thousands of PCBs instantly identify high-value components — CPUs, large capacitors, heatsinks, connectors, and transformers.

Robotic Microfactory

Our AI-driven facility extracts components without compromising their electrical or mechanical integrity.

Component Reconditioning

Recovered components are sent to our reconditioning centers, ready for a second operational life.
